Hi,
Somebody keeps breaking into my window user account. I've got Window xp and there are couple of user accounts. I don't know who is doing it but itis really annoying as I don't have any privacy. I don't know if they getmy passwords with keloggers or some sort of other devious ways. No matter how many times I change my password, I always find out someone has been in my account. What can I do to prevent that and how can I do the same? I read couple of articles on how to access other users' accounts but none seem to work for me.
Thanks

zalude, may I know how many people is using your computer?
How many of the user accounts have "Administrative" rights?
Also, how did you find out that someone has been in "your" account?

Yeah exactly. We need to know how many people get to physically access the computer?

three are 6 other users including myself... and that doesn't include the administrator account, coz its not showing (excluding Admin account only 1 other user has the admnin power, but I know it's not that user). It's my home PC I'm talking about. I know someone is using my accont whenever they feel like checking into my files... I noticed desktop icons moved or removed and interent searches I didn't do. Not only that but I also saw my account left switch users when I didn't even use the computer.
Thanks guys... this really bothers me >_<

okay there is this program called (Golden eye 2005), its used to monitor and record all the activity on your computer. so try it the person well not notice it, it doesn't come up and you can hide the icons too.
For your files try (hide my folder) no one can log into those folders u chose with out a password.
you asked (and how can I do the same? I read couple of articles on how to access other users' accounts but none seem to work for me.)
try google we cant help you with any thing that has to do with hacking/cracking.
i think someone knows your password on one would go to the trouble of hacking system just to change you icons or use your interent try to get a strong password.

Thank you very much... I'll see if that person persists to bugg me.

Very likely there's a low-level keylogger which captures Windows login password. Do you have antivirus installed? If yes, antivirus should be able to pick up the keylogger and remove the keylogger.
Since you didn't mention that your password is changed, that means it's not being "reset". I'll suspect that it's a keylogger.
What you can do is to install another keylogger on your account and then you'll know the time when someone is using your user account.

I go golden eye but I can't install it since I don't have admin rights in my account... now that you mention keyloggers, I just got couple and tested them.. but they don't seem to do justice. They are easily detectable and they show on task managers. Is there one you could recommend as being almost 100% stealth and free? Or even an Anti-keylogger.
Thanks

If you are not the admin and you only have a user account then I would think that the administrator on "your" PC is moving your files.
He can do that because he is the admin of course and I don't see how to prevent that.
