System defend Antivirus, Not totally a rogue but a complete crap. I was too much annoyed when I was testing it in a VM.

Everyone should use Famous AV
not unknown-where-from AV
also download AV just from http://download.com which guarantee the security of the AV itself

Apart from it.. a good simple reference go to Virustotal (a nos. of legitimate "trusted" AV brands were listed there )

Download.com also hosts Crapwares like System Defend Antivirus. Which is a semi-rogue-Adware-antivirus. SO, better option is VirusTotal. But there are more legitimate antivirus Like Twister which is no there. Also some AV which uses the engine of Virus Total AVs like Outpost, Bullguard, Trusport etc. are not there too.

Upon ceyfer's request and discussion with the other Mods and the Admin himself, I am locking this wonderful thread as the majority of the stuff posted here are now considered obsolete/outdated...
In the coming days, ceyfer will be posting the new revised edition of this thread, still in this forum section. Once it's made, the new thread will be made a sticky and probably with a similar title - along the lines of "Rogue security programs list - Revised". (we are not confirmed on that yet)
Anyway, watch out for this space...me or the other Mods here will keep you updated.
