Hi Nagashiro. Usually a virus is written to affect the operating system and normally doesn't seem to do any harm to other hard drives, unless you move the file into that hard drive. From what I've heard however, a worm can tend to move from one drive to another. It depends on which type. However, I am not an expert. I am only going by my own experiences with those. I use a program like Norton Go back for such a reason. If my AV fails to do its job, I can go back. There are many types of programs which can revert one's computer back to a state that was one which was virus free. If you think you have a virus which is spreading I would suggest doing a online scan such as Trend Micro's house call but one has to use Internet Explorer to do it with. Its free and if there is anything to be concerned about it might catch the problem. Sometimes a virus can disable ones AV (antivirus) without them knowing. It can also infect it, so that is when an online virus scanner can come in very handy. Try that and a scan for malware and I hope in some way I've helped you out. Seeing before I never checked my downloaded files I learned the hard way and learned quickly how to prevent it when possible. Hugs Silk40dd

Agree with Silk40dd, it really depends on what type of virus. There are virus that are made to spread to other drives and network shared drives.
