How to opt out of Google's DoubleClick cookie

Guys, I just found out this recently. Do you know that Google's privacy policy offers a link to DoubleClick's opt-out cookie? I believe most of us do not know about this.

The DoubleClick cookie is used for AdSense partner sites, DoubleClick ad serving, and other certain Google services.

All you have to do this go here and click on the button:
    http://www.google.com/privacy_ads.html

However, take note that if you delete this opt-out cookie, you will have to opt out again. Alternatively, Google offers options for you to permanently save your opt-out settings in your browser.

To do this, go here and download the advertising cookie opt-Out plugin
    http://www.google.com/ads/preferences/plugin/

In addition, Google allows third party advertisers to serve ads on the Google content network. Using a tool created by the Network Advertising Initiative, you can opt out of several third party ad servers’ and networks’ cookies simultaneously.

    To do this, go here:
    http://networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp

Just follow the details on the site.

Hope this is useful for you guys.

Nice one...Solaris. The video's funny...typical of The Onion. For those of you who don't know, The Onion is...

The Onion is an American "fake news" organization. It features satirical articles reporting on international, national, and local news as well as an entertainment newspaper and website known as The A.V. Club. It claims a national print circulation of 690,000 and says 61 percent of its web site readers are between 18 and 44 years old
    Quoted from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Onion

Basically, The Onion is just a joke. Don't get fooled by it's 'proffesional quality' videos. They are good at it.

    Well explained Safeguy.
It maybe not so good of me to post that video which really did not make much sense, but not bad to have a laugh once in a while.

Another option if you use Firefox is TACO. (Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out). It will permanently save the Google opt-out as well as others, even if you try deleting with CCleaner. (It would remake them on startup of Firefox.)
