Nice guide, but I know from earlier dual-boot experiences that before long you will be using just one OS, the last one.

Don't like dual boot?? Why? It's really good to have two OS in one PC...when 1 messes up, you've got another as your temporary solution. I have XP Pro and Vista Home Prermium dual boot (it wasn't done by me but my school IT guys)

I'm thinking of triple-booting with Windows 7 but I have no idea how to (I don't even know how to set up a dual boot...honestly, never done it before)

I know there's Google that will help me with that though.
They call me the mysterious one...

I want to do a dual with Windows 7 and XP and I read on Microsoft's Windows 7 website that:
    1) you first need to boot XP up
    2) then insert the Windows 7 DVD and start installation.

Whereas, other tech websites say that:
    1) you need to insert the Windows 7 DVD and then reboot your system
    before starting the installation process.

Is one of these ways better, or will both get the job done right?

Thanks hellnoire! I'll probably go with the Microsoft installation, because I doubt they would post something that doesn't work. I just hate wasting the time doing it one way and then when it doesn't work, having to do it all over again.

Not a problem... I don't dual boot Windows with Windows, but I figure MS's way would work too.

I wouldn't ordinarily do a dual boot with Windows either, but I want to give Windows 7 64 bit a try and I'm not sure what to expect, so I'm keeping my XP for backup purposes.
