It is a well known fact that a high percentage of identity thefts are done by family, friends (I use this word loosely) and acquaintances. We’ve all heard the cases where someone who the victim knows gets a hold of their personal information somehow and wreaks havoc with their credit. This can be done several ways including getting a hold of credit card offers (or other personal mail), snooping in purses or wallets, and even snooping on the victim’s computer.

Already have one, but the way I know is usually the peanut butter on the keys

No one gets onto my PC without my permission...cause they would require a password that only me knows Unless that is sometimes when I let a person X uses my PC, he then lets a person Y uses it...sucks right?

Locked down the BIOS and the OSes on both laptop and desktop.

ya.........if you want to avoid snooping, locking down BIOS is the smartest thing to do, that is as long as you remember the password.....

A keylogger is a special tool... it logs your keys. Nothing more.

It can't send information that's already typed up. It just logs what happens from install time and onwards.

Most AV detect keyloggers though...
