    Use Office 2010 FREE for 6 months (180 days) legally

    Yup...the title says it but there's a caveat...you will have to "re-arm" Office 2010 every 30 days

    How to Rearm and Extend Office 2010 Activation Grace Period for Free 180 Days Usage

    This "re-arming trick" is legal - it's a tool by MS themselves. Don't believe me? Then check it out for yourself here:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee624357%28office.14%29.aspx

    But wait, there's another problem you would have to tackle - Office 2010 Retail Edition now uses a different form of activation, Software Protection Platform (SPP), somewhat similar to Windows Vista and Windows 7...and it would not allow you to install without a license key in the first place...

    Microsoft Office 2010 Volume License Product Key (VLK) Requires KMS or MAK for Activation

    Oh...now what? Don't worry as it has been found out that Office 2010 Select Edition (volume license for corporate customers) does not require you to put a license key to install...and the ISO has already been leaked onto the web through torrents by Wyzo (these images are the real images from MS - clean and verified through the hash checksum)

    Microsoft Office 2010 ISO (RTM Volume Edition) Leaked Torrent Download

    Before you guys misunderstand me, these ISO images are not pre-activated in any way...they are still "trials" except for the fact they do not require a license key input unlike the Retail Edition.

    Bonus for you guys (thanks a lot to MS and Wyzo):

    If you download these volume editions of Office 2010 and choose not to activate, MS is being very lenient (hey, it's intended for corporate customers - remember that) - there would be no reduction in functionality regardless of activation status. You will still be able to open, save, edit, and print Office files. The only "problem" is you will see notifications reminding you to activate the program And that's where re-arming feature comes to play

    P.S. There are other methods to activate Office 2010 - such as using a KMS emulator activation but that would not be discussed here as it's firstly illegal and secondly, hacking/cracking isn't allowed to be discussed on the forum. I've warned you that and please obey the rules.

    UPDATE:

    I've actually found an easier way to extend the trial without you having to do it manually - there's a one-click tool that does the same job for you. And yup, this is legal and clean...

    http://www.intowindows.com/download-microsoft-office-2010-trial-extender-tool/

    The article is written by a Microsoft Most Valuable professional, so skeptics think twice/thrice before saying anything...

    P.S. I initially found this tool over at Majorgeeks but I forgot to post it here...till someone reminded me

    Thank you Safeguy.
    I no longer use MS Office and I do not plan to use it in the future.
    You already know what I use instead:-)

    I wonder if those leaked Office ISO are the latest Office builds.

    I wouldn't download any leaked software especially if from untrusted sources like Torrents anyhow.

    Just consider that MS Office beta testers will be elegible for discounts for example, I would't be surpised if some of them could get MS Office 2010 for free.
    The official launch of Office 2010 will be on May 12, 2010 in New York City

    more information here
    http://blogs.office.com/

    And if I remember right, who buy Office 2007 now can get Office 2010 for free

    B.T.W Romans were used to say "Repetita Juvant" ("one thing, by repetition, is learned by the listener");-)

    The links are available here:

    The page was down for some time but it's fine now...if you still don't get access to it, then just look here:

    @leofelix

    I'm not so sure...are you using OpenOffice?

    Anyway, those leaked Office ISO that I pointed to are the final Office builds...they are exactly the same as the ones MSDN and Technet subscribers will download from their accounts...

    It's Build 14.0.4763.1000 (final build according to Neowin.net)...and NOT to be confused with the previous RC (RTM Escrow - Build 14.0.4734.1000)

    And yes, for those wondering Release-to-Manufacturing (RTM) is essentially the same as the ones you'll get from retail stores later in June...

    As for "untrusted" sources - well, I can't convince you but Wyzo 'leaked' releases have always been right - nothing modified, etc...you can always check the hash if you have doubts..

    You're right that the official launch will be on May 12 but....

    Consumers will not be able to purchase the product until June. Although Microsoft officials will not confirm the exact date, Neowin firmly believes this will be June 15.
    And lol, the Romans do have truth in their saying

    @noaccount

    I don't think there's a leaked final build for MS Project 2010 RTM but you can still find the RC (RTM Escrow) build which has been leaked on torrent sites for some time..it isn't the same as the official build but it's close enough...

    Just download 32-bit (x86) Office 2010 ISO (Select Volume License)...most of us wouldn't need the Proofing Tools...

    Note: Microsoft Office 2010 Proofing Tools is an add-in package that contains the proofing tools that Microsoft makes for over 30 languages. For example fonts, spelling and grammar checkers, AutoCorrect lists, AutoSummarize rules (Microsoft Word only), translation dictionaries, and for Asian languages, Input Method Editors (IMEs or alternative keyboard layout) for Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Or Korean.
    As for the size, yes it's 3.25GB and that's because it's the Select Edition and includes everything in the Office suite (Access, Excel, etc) and Office 2010 Professional Plus edition (which is what you should install if you want the "no reduction in functionality regardless of activation status" benefit intended for corporate customers)

    All borderline "SHADY" and then using the "Office 2010 Select Edition (volume license for corporate customers) " makes it real close to illegal. Leaked or not it's just plain crooked

    You wouldn't be able to activate Office 2010 with your Office 2007 key...unless you bought it during the Technology Guarantee period...

    @Flatlands

    Feel free to think whatever you want. I've explained myself and it really wouldn't be worth it convincing a pessimistic person like you.

    Nope' just completely legal, you won't find me bringing the hack and crack cops here to Raymond's house. The idea is to buy the software to use not to see how it can be used without purchase. What's really bad is Microsoft almost gives this stuff to you school kids and you still try to "steal" from them.

    @Flatlands

    The difference lies in how we define the word "legal"...I personally have no qualms of mentioning this as this thread is NOT about hacking/cracking Office 2010 in any way (I'm a Mod after all - I know the rules and mode of conduct)...but then again, your 'views' of what's a hack/cracks differs from mine and many others here. So, no point in arguing over that.

    The idea is indeed to see how it can be used without purchase BUT without involving the use of pirated keys or cracks or activators. It is essentially a trial after all (30 days) where you would then have to use the "re-arm" trick provided by MS themselves. For goodness sake, please see and realize the difference. If anyone wants to purchase the software, he/she is absolutely free to do so - no one forces you otherwise.

    What's really bad is Microsoft almost gives this stuff to you school kids and you still try to "steal" from them.
    You have to know that firstly, MS doesn't give Office to all school kids for free or for a discount...there's always the limit of it being a "US-only" or there must be ".edu email" or some other restrictions. Secondly, as I've explained above, I'm not trying to "steal" from them...

    Sorry to say this Flatlands but I'm giving you a ban. Here's my advise - whenever you speak to someone, be it on an online forum or anywhere else, stay away from commenting on topics you are not fully aware of. Stay away from judging others negatively...Stay away from accusing others just because you think you are right (when you are actually not).
