Getting C++ up and working in windows 7 (or vista both x64 and x86/x32)....
Hi all,
i have recently updated my system from xp 32-bit to win 7 64-bit, and one problem i faced was of not being able to use turbo C++ in it(in schools they still use TC v3)..
i did a little bit of searching, downloaded and tried some compilers but ever1 comes wid its own rules,, and i dont wanna learn how every compiler on this earth works, so i digg up a lil bit more and found a way of getting the borland compiler up and running with a gui that is able to hanle more than i knew(at this time..
)...
I am always interested in the "cooking style" of explaining things(i think it makes things easier
)..
here is wht you will need:
1. the borland compiler. (you can get it here: https://downloads.embarcadero.com/item/24778),, you will need to register at the site,, there is no other way as they restrict the distribution of it.. if u r nt intrested in providing them up wid ur email id , u can always use a disposable id...
2. code::blocks, http://www.codeblocks.org/
------------
-> Install both of them.
Now u need to configure code::blocks for using borland compiler.i am assuming that u r installing them at there default locations; if u r not then change everything accordingly...
--------
i will be completing d post 2mro, sorry for that..

In my view compatibility mode would be your best bet to run DOS-mode programs like turbo c++ v3 under windows 7. Usually works for me so you can just try it out.

Why you don't try Dev-C++ , it works on Win 7 x64.
