How to Identify Problem Computer Noises?

Whirs, beeps and clunks -- what's that noise? It's never a nice feeling when your computer suddenly starts making noises you're not used to hearing. Often, this means a trip down to your local computer repair store and a few dollars out of your pocket. Sometimes, the issue is easily fixed or ends up being simply a sound that occurs during normal use that doesn't require professional intervention. Now, let's play a quick computer-based variant of Name That Tune.

Thanks for the read luffy. Somehow I have become the "go to" guy for my friends and family, when something goes wrong with their computers. If they only realized how little I know...

The thing that strikes me my friend is it's only when you look back that you notice how much you know, some people only know how to switch a pc on, and couldn't tell you what boot means or what is posted before login, although i don't have a login myself...i know a few that don't know how to clean up the hard drive of unwanted files, simple maintanence is beyond them... its so much easier when it's sitting in front of you than online and faster to fix, better still when you repair a laptop..
i can't remember how many i have fixed at this stage but the one thing i do know its mostly down to the user themselves, like most tools if you look after them they will serve you well for years on the hardware front, viruses are another beast...

@ Jay My favorite is when someone complains about why their PC is acting up, or not running well and I give them suggestions to try, but they just give me a blank look and continue on with things like they are. I have learned fast just to shut up after that!!!
