As things like user permissions and promotions could not be transferred over from the old forum, we've decided to make some changes as to which users get access to which forum functions.

    ALL registered members:
    • Can view user profiles, edit your own profile, create posts/polls, reply to posts, search, view attachments, vote in polls, upload an avatar, start personal conversations, create a basic signature, view post ratings and create/edit/view profile posts.
    • Will not receive any ads, and they'll disappear as soon as you login.
    • Will be eligible for all giveaways on the official Giveaway page unless specifically stated.
As a member, you will be placed into one of three user groups:

Registered User Group (less than 5 posts)

This is the lowest on the ladder and for new users or those that don't actively participate on the forum. Anyone with less than 5 forum posts are placed in this group, and the following restrictions apply:
    • Cannot like or rate any posts using the ratings system
    • Cannot edit your own posts
    • Cannot upload attachments to posts or personal conversations
    • Time limit of 30 minutes to edit your conversations
    • Cannot delete your own profile posts
    • Cannot post messages in the Shoutbox
    • Can use 5 of the 7 posting font sizes
    • Maximum tag alerts per message = 1 (The amount of users you can tag with '@' in a post)
We believe these restrictions are fair and will help deter those up to no good while encouraging newer or inactive users to take part.

Verified User Group (5 posts or greater)

Once you accumulate 5 posts (stupidly short posts will be deleted), you will automatically be promoted to this group. Verified is the main user group on the forum and will be where most active members are placed. The following changes from the Registered group are:
    • Can use the rating system to rate posts
    • Can edit your own posts
    • Can upload attachments to posts or personal conversations
    • Time limit of 90 minutes to edit your conversations
    • Images are allowed in profile signatures
    • Can delete your own profile posts
    • The Shoutbox can be used to post messages
    • Can use a persistent text color in the Shoutbox
    • 6 of the 7 posting font sizes are available
    • Can report posts to the moderators/admins
    • Maximum tag alerts per message = 3 (The amount of users you can tag with '@' in a post)
VIP User Group (by invitation only)

This group partially replaces the Stars and Experienced groups from the old forum and you'll get promoted to here by invitation of the administrator. You must be consistently active on the forum to be considered or remain a VIP, it's not based on post count alone but a few other factors also. A few extra things you will get are:
    • Maximum tag alerts per message = 5
    • Can edit your own conversations for 24 hours
    • 1 Link and embedded media in signature is allowed
    • All 7 text sizes are available
    • Edit the title that displays under your name in posts (excluding words similar to mod, admin, staff etc)
    • Can edit or delete your own Shoutbox messages
    • Access to the VIP members private forum (like the old Experienced/Stars forums)
    • A greater chance of winning in selected giveaways with the option to enter more than once
Existing members will be automatically placed into the appropriate group.

We reserve the right to edit or modify your profile and its contents if we deem anything as inappropriate or unsuitable.

The contents of this post will evolve over time so it's advisable to check back here from time to time. As always, we're open to suggestions and feedback to help make the forum a better place for everybody.
